he armed conflicts that raged in South-east Asia between 1945 and 1975 included a far greater armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) presence thah previously thought. The author sets out lo present the full range of AFVs involved in this fascinating and graphically illustrated book. The French Expeditionary Force that fought in Indochina from 1945 was largely equipped with American vehicles. These included the M5 Stuart, the M4 Sherman, and the M24 Chaffee. Many of these vehicles went on to serve with the Army of the Republic of South Vietnam. The American military build-up tn the 1960s saw M41 Walker Bulldogs and M48A3 Patton medium tanks deployed to South Vietnam. Along with the tanks came the American M113 armoured personnel carrier. The Australian Atmy was equipped with the British Centurion tank. The North Vietnamese Atmy was supplied with Soviet and Chinese armoured fighting vehicles, notably the Russian 1-54 medium tank and its Chinese copy, the 1-59. All these types and| many more are described in detail and illustrated with full captions in this work, which will be invaluable to military historians, collectors, modellers and war-gamers. Michael Green is a much published author and collector who specialises in armoured vehicles of all nations. His works in the Ren and Sword Images of War Series include Patton Tank-Cold War Warrior (2012) and Russian Armour in the Second World War (2013).
